Welcome Message from Erin Oksol, Ph.D., President, NSPA Northern Region

Welcome to NSPA’s 2007-2008 term!

We have a great team in the North this year and you will be hearing from us more in upcoming posts. The following will be serving as the northern NSPA officers:

  Melanie Crawford Vice President
  John Friel Treasurer
  Mandra Rasmussen-Hall Secretary

I look forward to an exciting and productive year for NSPA. We will kick off the year with our Annual Student Reception in early fall (date yet to be determined) and will host other activities such as local CEU programs and other student activities that encourage interaction among students and psychologists. We will also be involved in important issues being addressed by NSPA’s committees on Public Education, Legislative Issues, Business of Practice Network (and the Healthy Workplace Award), Cultural Diversity, Ethics, the NSPA Newsletters, and the Annual Conference.

This year NSPA is prioritizing finding innovative solutions for increasing the Pre-and Post-Doc Internships available in our state. We are also interested in improving the ways in which we serve our Early Career Psychologists.

We will keep you posted via website, newsletters, and the listserv as we progress. As always, input from members is welcome and appreciated. Members have opportunities to volunteer for a variety of programs, and your involvement is vital to the success of our organization. Please contact me at Erin.Oksol@va.gov or (775) 232-5631.
